This was an individual project completed as part of the AD6604 Sustainable Technology 3 module. The brief was to produce a detailed external works package for a private wellness spa and courtyard in Cheltenham, geolocated to the real site at The Folly using GPS coordinates verified in Vectorworks. I produced a full suite of professional landscape construction documents covering every stage from general arrangement through to construction detailing and specification.

The hardwork GA at 1:200 sets out 22 distinct surface material and structural zones, including VIP granite sett parking bays, a disabled bay with a curved aluminium canopy, a Yorkstone flagstone entrance, a resin-bound accessible path network with corten steel edging, a circular water feature with LED uplighters, a SUDS rain garden swale and ACO linear drainage channels. A walled garden anchors the scheme with twin Cotswold limestone dry stone walls, a laser-cut corten steel botanical gate panel, a European oak pergola clad in Wisteria floribunda, and raised productive planting beds. An 11m x 4m (44m²) green wall carries 440 plants across six shade-tolerant species on automated drip irrigation.

The structural planting plan at 1:200 covers ten distinct zones - woodland boundary, woodland grass mix, Oudolf-style strolling garden perennial beds, tapestry lawn, orchard, walled garden beds, water feature marginals, fern beds, the green wall and a box hedge stone wall boundary. The earthworks and drainage plan carries finished floor, paving and ground levels, surface water fall schedules and a five-pipe drainage run connecting to a SUDS attenuation pond, while the setting out plan locates the entire site against a GPS latitude and longitude coordinate grid.

Across two construction detail sheets at 1:10 and 1:20, I drew seven individual details - the VIP parking bay build-up, the stone wall and box hedge boundary, the tanked central water feature, the productive garden gate and wall, the green wall system, the curved aluminium disabled bay canopy and the corten steel raised planters. I selected and specified all plant species across the ten planting zones and wrote the full external works specification across the Q sections, covering kerbs and edgings, granular sub-bases, in-situ concrete, asphalt, gravel and hoggin, natural stone, setts and cobbles, topsoil, planting, maintenance, fencing and site furniture.
